Has it really been 30 years?

October 4-7, 2007    Farmington South Stake Center

695 S. 200 E., Farmington, Utah 84025

Thanks to all that were able to attend the reunion in October 2007.  It was a great success and many friendships were renewed. Following are some of the items from the reunion, most especially the link to the memory book.  You can also review the schedule and all of the activities that took place. President Tanaka would like to meet in Japan in again in three years (2010) if we can pull it off!!

Watch soon for a new page with sound bytes, power point shows, videos and some photo slide shows from the 2007 reunion in Farmington.  If you have items you would like to submit to this site, please forward them to David Kravetz via email.

MEMORY BOOK FOR THE TANAKAS

Mike Goodwin and Lee Richan are preparing a "Memory Book" to present to the Tanakas after the reunion.  They will then finish editing it and publish it after the reunion. It may be purchased by anyone.  Mike has provided the following directions for those who would like to contribute.  Please make your entry in the chapter entitled "From Each of Us"

Plan now to celebrate our mission experiences together by joining President and Sister Tanaka with your spouse (and family, if desired) for as much of the following as you can:

Thu, 4th  1:30 PM  Temple ordinances for ancestors of Japanese (Mt. Timpanogos Temple)

Temple info and details are noted below

Fri, 5th    Noon-4   Picnic (bring a lunch) / Family Activities (South Park, 1384 S. Frontage Rd.,

Farmington; bad weather location:  Stake Center)

          6:30 PM   Catered dinner ($20 per person)/mission stories/slide shows/music (Stake Center)

Please come dressed in your Sunday best. We think it would be wonderful if President and Sister Tanaka saw us

again looking like the missionaries they presided over and cared for 30 years ago.

8:00 PM   President and Sister Tanaka’s memories (translation provided)

Sat, 6th  10, 2, 6    All sessions of General Conference (Stake Center; RS Room for Priesthood Meeting)

Sun, 7th 10, 2        Both sessions of General Conference (Stake Center OR Conference Center—bring

                              your own tickets)

Please forward and share this information with as many mission friends as possible!

TEMPLE DETAILS

Message from David Hanson regarding our JNM Reunion Temple Excursion

Brothers and Sisters,
The Timpanogos Temple runs sessions every half hour, with 'live' sessions on the hour.  The 'live' sessions are for those going taking out their own endowments, and are often more crowded.   The Temple staff suggest that the best way for us to all be in the same session is to plan on the 2:30 session.  We can all meet as scheduled at 1:30 at the Temple entrance and visit for a while before going on in to change.  If we are in the chapel shortly after 2:00 p.m., we should all be in one session together at 2:30.

The Temple staff also suggest that name tags not be worn into the Temple, but are fine as we gather outside.

Baptisms at the Temple

The Temple tells us they get rather busy with groups coming to do Baptisms around 3:15 each day.   Some of our group are planning to do Baptisms during the 2 to 3 p.m. timeframe (while the rest of the group are in the Endowment session) , but if you were planning on Baptisms after the endowment session, it might be difficult.

TEMPLE SCHEDULE FOR REUNION ATTENDEES

Thursday 10/4, 1:30 p.m.

We'll meet at 1:30 at the Temple entrance and then proceed to the next available endowment session.

Those wishing to do initiatory or baptisms may wish to stay after the endowment session. Brother Utagawa is bringing the names from Japan for the temple work we'll be doing. What a blessing to be able to do this work for our Japanese brothers and sisters that have already passed through the veil. Japanese translation for the endowment session will be available for Japanese natives.

See you there!
